Kahe avtar nahi lep bhagat nun maya bharam bhulani da.
Meaning
Here Baba Avtar Singh ji gives the difference between a saint and a person who does not have God knowledge. He talks about two things that come from the same source, yet they live differently. Just like the flower that does not bother the thorns, in the same way a saint does not let the worldly people influence him. The example of lotus that remains disconnected with the water says that the devotee is also disconnected with the worldly things but still remains beautiful. The sandalwood does not leave its fragrance (aroma) even though it is surrounded by bamboos. A duck too lives in water but still remains unaffected by it. All these examples prove that though a devotee lives in this world of pleasure, he keeps himself away from all distraction and concentrates on the Almighty. Thus, he concludes by saying that a saint is always dependant on God and does not get influenced by the things around him.
